What is ITIL 4?

The ITIL 4 certification pathway image above shows the different modules a learner can study to reach an ITIL designation. For example, to be recognised as an ITIL Managing Professional, a learner would need to be certified in the four modules under the ITIL Managing Professional (MP) heading. That includes ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver & Support, ITIL 4 Specialist: Drive Stakeholder Value, ITIL 4 Specialist: High Velocity IT, and ITIL 4 Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve. There are two more designations: ITIL Strategic Leader (SL) which would require a learner to be certified in two ITIL 4 modules, ITIL Leader: Digital & IT Strategy and ITIL Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve. The final designation is ITIL Master, which would require a learner to be designated as both an ITIL Managing Professional (MP) and ITIL Strategic Leader (SL).

This eLearning ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition course provides an opportunity for professionals who already hold the ITIL v3 Expert designation or at least 17 ITIL v3 credits to fast track their learning to the ITIL Managing Professional (MP) designation, without needing to become certified in the four Managing Professional modules separately.

Suitable For:

This eLearning ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition course enables candidates to recognise and use their previous ITIL training and achievements while still gaining the up-to-date skills and knowledge needed to navigate the digital service economy. The eLearning course will provide the learner with an understanding of the new ITIL 4 concepts and definitions, including the key differences between the previous iteration of ITIL and ITIL 4 and how they can be practically applied.

The course will provide information on the key elements of the following modules from ITIL 4 Managing Professional:

• ITIL 4 Specialist Create, Deliver and Support
• ITIL 4 Specialist Drive Stakeholder Value
• ITIL 4 Specialist High Velocity IT
• ITIL 4 Strategist Direct Plan and Improve.

If you successfully complete this course and pass the associated exam, you will be recognised as an ITIL 4 Managing Professional.

To qualify for the transition module, candidates need to hold the ITIL v3 Expert designation, a minimum of 17 credits from ITIL v3 qualifications, or 15 credits from ITIL v3 qualifications and the ITIL 4 Foundation certificate.

Exam Details

  • The exam will be computer based and completed online via a compatible device
  • The exam voucher, redeemable with PeopleCert, is included in the price of this course
  • Exam vouchers allow a learner to book the exam whenever they want, within 12 months
  • The exam itself will last up to 90 minutes and consists of 40 multiple choice questions
  • The pass mark is 28 out of 40 (70%)
  • Exam results will be withheld for candidates until the correct prerequisite information is provided to PeopleCert
